We had a great time at PA. Our dancers did wonderful. It was nice seeing several of the routines for the first time.
I know there were lots of murmurings about another club getting preferential treatment with the number of session awards, so I checked out the stats (because I'm a facts person not feelings person).
As a larger club, they had significantly more dances than the rest. On average their entries were 40% of all festival dances (some sessions over 50%).
They won 30% of the session awards. Statistically they were below their average for awards, even though it appeared they were winning a lot (like how Ontario has more people buying lotto tickets than SK so it seems like they always win, it's just based on higher demographics).
I love all the Mama Bears wanting to advocate for our dancers (and maybe our kids didn't receive as high of medals as they deserved), but let's be cautious that when we advocate for our kids we aren't pulling down someone else's kids in the process. I wouldn't want to overhear another club say our dancers didn't deserve an award they won.
Just putting it in terms of numbers...
And Elise chose D.E. dancers to award her candies to, not knowing which club they were with, so sometimes one club just dominates.
